PayPal's Fumble as Alt-SZN Arrives - Plus Tether, BNB, Injective & Trader Cobb's Analysis
From AltCoins to Surging Market Caps, are the Dog Days finally paying off? Let's get into it on this final Monday of July.
Hey Kyle, how bout you don’t fuck up the audio today? Thanks. Good morning. Happy New Week. August is barrelling down the tunnel.
Matt will be back on Wednesday. But I heard Steven Kwan is on the trading block so Matt’s preparing his effigy. Maybe Kwan will get traded to my team that was swept this weekend. Anyways, we’ve got some listener questions that are about crypto not baseball.
K_Knedz asked about Injective on Spotify. I think the Injective team is solid. I interviewed Eric Chen back at the Messari conference in like 2020-2021, I want to say. It was a great interview and the Injective team had some dope swag. They recently just did some interesting tokenization stuff, where they tokenized some stocks. Looks like they just launched their EVM compatibility as well. Again, they’re always innovating. It’s a pretty niche community, though.
Let’s Get to the Headlines:
Tether just printed 1,000,000,000 USDT. A total of 8 billion USDT tokens has been minted since July began per onchain stats shared by Coinbureau on Twitter.
Is it AltSzn? 75% of the top 50 coins are outperforming $BTC this month. With $PENGU, $ENA, and $BONK are leading the charge.
But Anatoly, Solana Co-Founder, Called Meme Coins 'Digital Slop' over the weekend, despite his network’s reputation.
PayPal's crypto fumble must be studied, according to Jack Kubinec, Solana reporter at Blockworks
Finally, BNB has surpassed Nike in Market Value when it pushed over $850. NIKE!
Pebbles asked about crypto events in the PNW. I would first look at smaller meetups around. Big conferences can be such a mass horde of chaos. There are definitely meetups around. I’m not familiar with a lot of projects in Portland, but Seattle has a decent seen. Seattle is lead by the AWS scene but projects like EigenLayer boast strong exposure. To be honest, there are potentially too many crypto conferences. There’s just too much going on…
