The $282K Solo Bitcoin Mining Win
A solo operator earns 3.13 BTC as network hash rate keeps climbing.

UK MOVES TOWARD FULL CRYPTO REGULATION IN 2027
The United Kingdom plans to bring crypto companies under the same style of financial regulation it uses for traditional finance starting in 2027.
The Treasury has already published draft legislation covering crypto exchanges and stablecoin issuance. Separately, the Bank of England is consulting on stablecoin oversight through February of 2026.
The stated goal is to create clear rules that block bad actors. Legal experts, however, are warning that the UK needs to pace the rollout carefully so it does not overregulate an industry that is still evolving and accidentally push firms out of the market.
Honestly, the surprising part here is not the regulation. It is how long it is taking. Clear rules should not be controversial.
PHANTOM WALLET EMBEDS KALSHI PREDICTION MARKETS
Phantom, the crypto wallet with more than twenty million users, is integrating Kalshi prediction markets directly into the app.
Users will be able to trade tokenized positions tied to regulated event markets using Solana tokens or Phantom’s CASH stablecoin. The experience includes real time odds, updates, settlement notifications, and live community chat that leans into social trading.
This is part of a broader trend of embedding prediction markets directly into wallets and mainstream platforms. Recent integrations include MetaMask, Trust Wallet, CNN, CNBC, and even sports partnerships with the UFC and NHL.
Prediction markets are quietly becoming one of the most important on chain use cases.
SOLO BITCOIN MINER WINS $282,000 BLOCK REWARD
A solo Bitcoin miner just won a block reward worth roughly $282,000, earning 3.13 BTC through CK Pool.
The miner was operating around 270 terahashes per second and faced odds estimated at roughly one in thirty thousand. CK Pool allows individuals to mine solo without running full pool infrastructure and takes a two percent fee, which in this case amounted to about 0.062 BTC.
This was the fourth solo win through CK Pool in the past three weeks. Over time, miners using the service have earned a cumulative total of 5,553 BTC.
To put this into perspective, 270 terahashes is not unobtainable. An Antminer S21 producing roughly that output costs around $5,800. Higher end models scale quickly in price, but the point is that this is not purely theoretical.
This story is basically a reminder that solo mining is a lottery ticket. The odds are brutal, but somebody wins.
BITCOIN RALLY SHOWS SIGNS OF SHORT COVERING
Bitcoin’s roughly fifteen percent rebound from late November into early December is starting to look more like a short covering rally than fresh spot demand.
Derivative data shows that during the climb from around November 21st to a local high near $94,000 on December 9th, open interest fell and volume delta stabilized. That typically indicates shorts closing positions rather than new buyers entering the market.
Some bears are calling for a deeper correction, with targets as low as $40,000. Others believe we chop sideways.
The honest answer is that sentiment is all over the place right now.
LISTENER FEEDBACK
Jason, our resident perma bear, wrote in saying he logged over 164,000 minutes of listening time in 2025 and somehow Coldplay remains his top artist for the third year in a row despite never intentionally playing them.
Neither Drake nor Taylor Swift made his list. Daily Crypto News came in at number three. He says he does not lean right or left, but is fiscally conservative and anti Zionist.
