TODAY’S SHOW - OCTOBER 3
Hey good degens — welcome to your Friday jam on Daily Crypto News. I’m Quile.
Matt’s in mourning. The Guards are out. It’s Oct.3 and that’s the dice of life in October baseball.
It’s been a wild week: Bitcoin’s flirting with new highs, DeFi protocols are stacking wins, and mobile platforms are folding crypto straight into everyday devices. Add to that new tokenization plays and institutional treasuries going full send, and the weekend doesn’t look quiet.
Today we’ll hit big stories from Samsung tapping 75M Galaxy users, FGNX tokenization, and more. Buckle up — we’ve got a lot to get through.
Let’s hit a listener comment.
Paul says:
“It’s less about disinformation with small, unsubstantial things like Mr T’s birthday, which can be easily verified like you said. It’s more about things that may not be verifiable. A government can create a video showing their adversaries beheading children. A politician leaks a video of their opponent on a crack bender with hookers Etc etc etc. There’s also the opposite. Let’s say someone is actually caught on film, doing something criminal or immoral. It’s now much easier to deny it, saying it’s AI generated by your adversaries trying to discredit you. Weird times ahead.”
Listen to the show for my hot take on AI.
Samsung adds Coinbase crypto access for 75M Galaxy users
U.S. Galaxy users can buy crypto inside Samsung Wallet via Samsung Pay; launch includes a 3-month Coinbase One trial and $25 credit after the first trade.
Rollout starts in the U.S. (~75M devices) with plans to expand globally, signaling a mainstream on-ramp push via native OEM wallets.
FGNX stock, tokenized on Ethereum by Securitize
Securitize listed tokenized equity for FGNX on Ethereum, continuing its public-company tokenization track (following previous tokenized shares like KKR fund interests).
Tokenization allows 24/7 transfer/settlement under compliant rails, with on-chain cap-table management and KYC-gated wallets.
Avalanche Treasury Co. coming via $675M SPAC (with Foundation support)
A SPAC deal values the Avalanche-focused treasury vehicle at $675M; the Avalanche Foundation signaled strategic support to channel capital into AVAX ecosystem assets.
Plan: allocate into AVAX and Avalanche-native DeFi/RWA, creating a publicly listed “crypto treasury” exposure vector for traditional investors.
Mantle, an Ethereum Layer-2 network, is generating strong bullish sentiment due to several catalysts:
Launching tokenization-as-a-service for compliant real-world assets (RWAs).
Integration of the USD1 stablecoin, linked to the Trump family’s World Liberty Financial, onto the Mantle network.
MNT token hitting an all-time high of $2, up 4.5% in 24 hours.
Growing adoption across neobanking, DeFi protocols, and Bybit integration.
Bitcoin hits $120,000; Street targets creep higher
BTC briefly tagged ~$120K as liquidity rotated back into large-caps; Standard Chartered reiterated a near-term ~$135K target in its latest market commentary.
Options activity and ETF flows have supported topside skew, with several desks citing a constructive Q4 backdrop.
Stablecoin market cap tops $300B amid rebound
Aggregate stablecoin supply crossed $300B, underscoring renewed demand for on-chain dollars and routing for payments/DeFi collateral. Binance
Rising supply tracks fresh issuance from top issuers and broader crypto risk-on—often a leading indicator for liquidity conditions. Binance
Next we’re going to hear from OpenSea CMO Adam Hollander
Here’s Adam talking about the rewards program they have on OpenSea. Remember, NFTs are not just pictures and there are myriad ways to support small artists. Here’s Adam on the OpenSea Rewards program, launched a couple of weeks back. It ends Oct. 15 and plays into their TGE.
There has been some backlash from the community since OpenSea has doubled the fees.
Per Grok: “The platform doubled NFT trading fees to 1% and token swap fees to 1.7% on September 14 without public announcement, using half the revenue to fund a $3 million prize pool amid 20-30% volume increases from farming activities. Critics, including trader DFarmer, compare the approach to past Blur controversies, warning of eroded floor prices in collections like BAYC and potential market downturns post-rewards.”
